YMCA: Kimball-Cooke, Shore Drive Win Youth Soccer Championships


THOMASTOWN – The Thomastown Area YMCA completed their fall soccer leagues on Saturday with Kimball-Cooke Insurance (U14) and Shore Drive Apartments (U10) capturing championships.

U10 Championship

Shore Drive 5, Starrett’s 1

Gabe Gois scored three times and Sammy Mailloux knocked in a pair of goals to lead Shore Drive Apartments to the championship.

The victors got outstanding defense from Lizzy Mailloux and Justin Comeau while Gentry Parker was a force on the offensive end.

Jacob O’Brien, assisted by Hayden Barrieau, provided the Starrett offense. Aiden Reyes and Riley O’Brien also played well up front. Carson Sheridan and Josh Stevens led the Starrett defense.

U10 Consolation

Rotary 3,

Athol Savings Bank 0

Raymond Castine scored twice and Brody Cwalina also had a goal as Rotary earned the win. Cwalina, Jaylynn Chapalonis and Lily Uch had assists.

The victors got strong offensive play from Tapanga Chapalonis, Dillon Houde, Cadence Rathburn and Jamieson Vincent. Matthew Pilling was strong in net while Ava Martin and Doug Monte were also strong on the defensive front.

Draka Yarborough was strong in net for ASB. Ryan Romero DaSilveiro and Caleb LeBlanc also played well in the loss.

U14 Championship

Kimball-Cooke Insurance 5, Kessler Investments 1

Joey Brozell recorded a hat trick and Colby Soltysik netted a pair of goals as Kimball-Cooke cruised to the crown.

The victors got strong play from Katie Nelsen in addition to Brozell and Soltysik on the offensive front. Cole Michaud, Daisy Si, Alex Hachey-Donaldo and Elise Saalfrank anchored the defense.

Mikey Koutrakos scored for Kessler, assisted by Dennis Humphrey.

Colby Koutrakos and Logan Parker were strong on the defensive end. Jaycob Lamarche led the attack.

U14 Consolation

Elks 3, Oldach 0

Amanda Calderon, Ryley Pond and Tarvaris Atwood scored for the victors.

Cain Youn, Bryton Collins and Haley Whitney also played well for the Elks.

Justin Giansanto, assisted by Bradley Normandin, scored for Oldach Law Office.

Julia Benoit, Joslyn Jaillet, Leah Baxter and Heather Pilling all played well on defense.

Giansanto, Normandin, Adrianna Buzzell and Eliza Baczek led the offense.

Kyle Doucette was great all-around.
