World’s First Art Book on Tirumala-Tirupati Released in Hyderabad on 6th June, 2005. The book can be previewed and soon be purchased online, and can be delivered anywhere in the world within a few days.

For several months I have been preview to the working of this book, and have had the privilege of looking at the working documents and artwork. The book is of the highest quality with simple descriptions covering the legends of Tirumala and Tirupathi and I believe it is the first of its kind.

You can preview and purchase the book from www.vqibooks.com.

Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde released the first ever world-class Art Book on Tirumala Tirupati - the richest and most powerful temple in the world.

Two successful entrepreneurs from Hyderabad, Sarita Reddy and Birad Yajnik came together to co-author and successfully publish the book, a first of its kind. Titled ‘Tirumala Tirupati the legends and beyond’, the book aims to inspire the believer, educate the academic and enlighten the curious.

Speaking about the book after a formal book release function at Hyderabad, an elated Birad Yajnik said, ”This Art Book is our sincere attempt to part-fill the enormous void that has existed for centuries in the aesthetic portrayal of the most revered temple in the world. Our individual interests, collective pre-production skills and domain expertise have wonderfully converged to achieve such qualitative results.”

Congratulating the young authors on encapsulating a thousand years of spiritual tradition in such a refined manner, Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde said,” I urge the historians of our country to promote Indian heritage and culture across the world by bringing out more books of this kind. Institutions such as TTD and the government, I am confident will encourage such efforts.”

TTD Chairman and noted MP, Shri Subbirami Reddy, present at the book’s release lauded the efforts of the authors in compiling information on such an elaborate subject and presenting it so interestingly.

The Interactive Media team at Visual Quest India lent its expertise in the digital design space, pre press & production for the book. The Visual Quest India team spent a little over six months in the pre-production of the book.

The 200 page hardbound book weighing a little over 2kgs, traces the legends behind the popularity of the shrine at Tirupati. It is a beautiful compilation of 250 photographs - some never seen before, illustrations, miniature paintings and architectural drawings woven together with legends, historic facts, mythical tales and narratives that help present a comprehensive image of the temple’s glorious past. The book is interspersed with architectural renderings that attempt to capture the beauty and skill of artisans of those times.

Sarita Reddy said” Working on this subject along with Birad and his team has been an enriching and spiritually rewarding experience. No effort has been spared to create this as an object of memorabilia that is both engaging in content and vivid in portrayal.”

The Art Book format was an ideal choice as it not only reiterated the reverential message of the 11 photo essays but also provided it an international lounge table book look that will help promote Tirumala Tirupati as the world spiritual tourist destination. It serves as a befitting and authentic description of the temple that is reverently called the ‘Jewel of Andhra Pradesh’. Printed to match international standards using special technology, the book is now available in leading stores around the country and will soon be available around the world.
